When we’re able to combine our love for effective business communication, combine it with REAL feedback, we are able to fine-tune our offerings until they are perfect. With that comes exciting new updates, such as the ones we are about to share with you!

If you have been loving our Intercom integration, then you are about to be BLOWN away as we introduce you to three exciting new updates. If you haven’t had the chance to test it out yet, we are sure that these updates will have you connecting these two fabulous business tools in no time.

For those of you who may not be familiar with Intercom, Intercom is able to bring a conversational approach to customer support. Intercom can support live chat capabilities, as well as bots, apps, in-app messages, and more. These features all allow you to connect with your customers, and the variety of options helps make Intercom a perfect solution for businesses of all sizes and styles.

One of the reasons we love this integration so much is because Intercom’s mission is one which Yodel very closely relates to. Both of our teams are determined to give customers and businesses more opportunities to connect in a way that makes sense.

That’s why we wanted to give you ANOTHER feature within Intercom that will allow you to connect with customers, when you connect Yodel with Intercom. Yodel was already able to bring text messaging to life within Intercom, and now we are here to tell you how that offering just got even better.

Now without further ado, here are our three new updates!

First thing’s first: Outbound messaging just got easier!

You can now initiate a conversation via text messaging directly from Intercom without having to go back into an already existing conversation, or waiting for a customer to message first. This will make business text messaging via Intercom even more useful, and is an exciting new way to reach out to your customers!

To send an outbound message without an existing Intercom conversation, simply go into the contact’s profile and locate the ‘Messaging URL’ link. Click on the link and you will be taken to a new tab where the contact number is already filled in. All you have to do is select the number you want to send a message from, write your text, and click send!

Our Second Update: Streamline your Permissions!

Configure phone number permissions for each Intercom user individually. This ensures that Intercom users can only send text messages from Yodel lines they should have access to.

Our Third and Final New Update: View Phone Numbers used within Intercom!

You can now easily see within a conversation the phone numbers being used. This will display both the Yodel number you are using, as well as your customer’s information.

In the end…

You are able to instantly get more from both Intercom and your phone communication once you integrate the two. The original integration features, in case you may need a reminder, allow you to sync your contact information, log call activity, and keep track of call recordings all within Intercom. With the original features and latest updates, your team will love being able to use their two favorite business tools together!
